ATC Central - The Learning Zone: Walkthough: Grecian Girl in Ink and Coloured Pencil

Walkthrough and art by Clep

1.First, I did the sketch in pencil, then inked it very carefully with a 0.7 gel pen. Ah, the joy of using 0.7 after a long while with a 0.2

2.Took it outside to colour. Like someone's sig says, never paint your masterpiece under artificial light. This is the first time I've obeyed that rule. Laid in a light yellow for the hair, did the flowers.
3.Added more yellow to the hair and put a light peach on her right arm.

4.Started to add the peach foundation to the rest of the skin.
5.Used some green pencils to go over the foundation. First is light green, then medium green, then a little bit of dark bluish green. Also added light green and blue to her tunic.

6.Lay in the background. This involves:
  1. A light base of dark blue/green
  2. Medium green for the fields
  3. One scribbling of blue over the whole thing
  4. Reinforcing mountain shadows with black, add more blue and green
  5. One scribbling of yellow over the whole thing
  6. Another scribbling of blue to finish it off.
