Default Design-a-Pony DUE April 1st: Signups open!

    Design-a-Pony

I am sure most of you have heard of the Cows on Parade or Trail of Painted Ponies? They are figurines you can buy from places like Hallmark. Here is their site: http://www.trailofpaintedponies.com

I got their book for Christmas (I can’t afford the figurines and have no room for them … but the artwork is really stunning!)

So here is a chance for you guys to create your own Painted Pony! We all have themes that are special and mean something to us… Frieda Kahlo, Goth, Lenore, Native Indian Art, Trees, Crows etc…

Below is attached a line drawing of a pony (by me, of course.) Print a bunch out on card stock (I have formatted the size to 2.5x3.5 so it should print out correctly for you!) and create any kind of desing you like!

    It is okay to:
    • ‘Modify’ parts of the pony (like create a fish tail where the back legs are if you like mermaids/seahorses.)
    • Create several cards using the same design (But they must be original art, NOT photocopies!)
    • Use a variety of media to create your cards (if you would like Hand drawn/painted only, that should be fine! (depending on the number of participants..) Please let me know though PM or by posting here when you sign up!)

    Requirements and Specs:

    Cards Due: April 1st
    Cards: 3-6 for 3-6
Media: Open media, NO Photocopies: (drawn-only preference is fine, please let me know!)
    • Please create some kind of decorative background on the card that complements your pony!
    • Please send a SASE With my Address written in the Upper Left Corner!!
    • International: Postage is on me, an extra pony card is nice but not mandatory!

Participants, No Limit, Sign-ups are open!:

Arizona is positively crawling with the painted ponies from life size on down. I always liked the concept. Count me in on this swap!

Well this is novel! I love this idea; the fact that we all begin from the same line drawing is totally intriguing. Sign me up please!

Okay! The second image should print out to the correct size, directly from your internet browser (it did from mine!) if you're still having problems, please let me know, and I will help you!

I'm so BAD...I'm tempted to put down my paint brush for the Chagall swap and do a painted pony instead!
