My first card for the Thon

Baba Yaga - because fairytales and even the dark ones are my favorite things! I liked putting a slightly sweet and smidge of steampunk twist on her

    Lovely cards Pabkins & catpratt!

I haven't had much time or energy for drawing the past couple of months, but i thought what better way to get back into it than an art-a-thon. Here are my first two cards, some familiar subjects I've done before since I'm a little rusty.

    Sweet Dobby!

Sal, I adore JSM, and the monster is eating the cupcake I wish I had!

Pabkins dear, it is almost mushroom time. You're getting me excited to go in the woods. Sometimes I see eyes seeing me!

Tanner!!! Good to see you and Smoke Break is very cool.

I just put an eyeball tree in the gallery. I always return to eyeball trees.

Super cool Smoke Break card, nanner!

catpratt, great eyeball tree! I pinned a clay one on pinterest a couple of days ago for inspiration, not sure if I'll ever get around to drawing one but they sure look interesting.

Finished another card! It's my favorite owl, the barn owl.

Ugh - sorry for the bad scan. The colors are off a bit. That's what I get for taking the pic here at work, under the fluorescent lights with my shaky iPad. Ha.

kre - I love your portraits, especially your Scooby Doo girls! Velma is a fave of mine.

Michelle81 - gorgeous owl! And Dobby is great! Took me a minute to place "the Silence" from Dr. Who but I got it. Cool!

catpratt - fun colorful cat and amazing eye-ball tree!

nanner - your smoke break girl has some rockin' hair!

amerasu - your cards are great - the philosopher in the pussy hat made me LOL!

pabkins - Baba Yaga is so sweet! and your mushroom/egg hatching scene is really neat, with the light streaming down like that.

I love ogling art... let's keep it coming!

    I am loving your favorites!

Pabkins - Your palette in that card is electrifying. There is so much depth and richness to that scene that it really feels like you packed a whole world into that small space. Truly incredible work.

kre - Daphne and Velma are rocking my world! I feel certain at least one of them is wearing go-go boots, even though we can't see them. Wilma and Betty have never, ever looked so good - and why do I now have the burning need to make classy adult versions of my favorite cartoon characters?! That Frieda is freaking gorgeous!

catpratt - Your eyeball trees are MY favorite!!! Love the blue rings around the eyes, as though they were looking or pulsing or vibrating with magic. It makes for such a dynamic effect, and it also makes the eyes pop brilliantly against that amazing pink sky. The graceful swoop of the tree is wonderful.

michelle81 - That owl is beautiful, and you've made the whole scene atmospheric. I've seriously gone back to look at it three times, studying how you did that, because it's incredibly effective what you achieved with that subtle whiteness in the background!

GwennieJo - What a fantastic foursome! That fox is such a charmer. I love all of the details surrounding him, too, and the way you focus the light, both in that card and in all of these. The scene under the cloche is amazing. That yellow sky also really grabs me. Out of curiosity, what moved you to make it yellow? I love it when people do non-standard skies, and I'm always interested by the choice of color they substitute.

nanner - There is a Smoker's Break Room in my heart for that beauty! She rocks my Casbah!
