I am just a fan of action: boy / boy, boy / girl, girl / girl, fly / fly. Whatever.

Maybe that's the swap we need:

    Action Swap: Boy/Boy, Girl/Girl, Boy/Girl, Fly/Fly - use your imagination! LOL!

I started sketching out my Demon's last night. Not sure I'll go with them or not - but lots of fun.

    Love this swap!

It's a bossy little swap, though! It's totally cutting in line and making me obsess about angels, which are mildly off-theme for all the other swaps I'm in at the moment.

There's a story to the bossy little swap, Ann. A gamer story. Have you ever played Aberrant (by White Wolf)? The angel/demon thing came from a story my husband ran for me that spun out of control. We have now created a whole universe around it, and I'm mildly (he would say really really really) obsessed.

I'm currently doing a 1:1 trade with the incredibly talented Wildholly for a piece that is based off that story. I was so excited when she agreed that I immediately posted this swap!

i totally agree, it sticks in your head till you NEED to draw them just to get them out, then you think of more

Crystal, I have never played Aberrant, but that's an awesome origin story for the swap! We haven't been able to make time for RPGs for a couple of years now. It's sad.

Kre, I'm glad it's not just me!

AnnD - no gaming for a couple of years? UGH!

I agree though. Once you start thinking about the combo, all sorts of images pop in your head.

I'm contemplating trying to ignore the tradtional images of demons and angels and go with my imagination. But it's hard. So we'll see. I did get some thought and sketches done in between gaming this weekend. Hopefully I can turn them into good art.

I know. A friend sent us an RPG last Christmas that can be run, end to end, in a day. We haven't even done that. What do you play, Jud? And Crystal, what else do you play? (Or just that?)

I'm excited to see nontraditional demons and angels! Too cool!

I run my own created universe using ICE crit and attack charts (all based on D10 % rolls). It's very loosely related to Marion Zimmer Bradley's Darkover world. Very heavy on Role-playing, less involved with hack and slash.

No hostages, you are amongst friends. Or is this Stockholmes syndrome

Ann, I started with D&D. I still playy that, along with several White wolf games, especially Aberrant and White Wolf Mortals.I just don't play too often anymore
    .

Have you heard of the board game "Descent"? It is supposedly very close to the RPG feel in a board game form.

"Descent" doesn't ring a bell, but you've just inspired my husband to check it out!

Jud, I share your distaste for the hack-n-slash. The last time we played D&D, we were playing with kids (19-24) whose response to EVERYTHING was, "I fire an arrow at it." Gee. How . . . fun.

Too funny! If you 2 of you want a fun challenge, also check out a board game called 'Defender of the Realm'. It's a cooperative game that is VERY challenging. I'm playing with 5 of the smartest, most aggressive players I know. And so far, we've only won 1 out of 18 games! We're playing the campaign format designed by the game creator. There are 5 chapters of the challenge. Very fun.

I must confess, I try to game at least weekly. I can't imagine going months at a time. Heck, they only way I survived college was daily all night gaming as it was.
