Default ALL: Fave Artist PAT - DUE April 6, 2012

    Fave Artist PAT
Cards due by: DUE April 6, 2012
Sign up by: When all spots are filled NO WITHDRAWLS
Players: Multiple Groups of 5 players
    Cards: 4/4 per group
iTrader rating required: +5 (no negatives)
Mediums: Per division/group. MMA members should choose MMA style artists while P&P members should choose P&P style artists.

It's been awhile since we've challenged ourselves with this fun theme.

    Instructions:

    1. Sign up for up to three groups and choose your favourite artist for each group.
    2. Once you sign up you can’t withdraw as some artists start their cards immediately.
    3. Make a card for each of the members of your group based on a piece of art or the style of the chosen artist. You will receive card from your favourite artist in return.
    4. Make sure that your user name, who you made the card for and the group number are on the back of each card. Please remember to sign your card!
    5. Submitting cards:
    A. USA & Canadians, please include an ADDRESS LABEL and enough stamps for return postage.
    B. International, please include an ADDRESS LABEL and I will cover postage.
    6. Send me a Private Message when you're ready to send your cards and I'll send you my mailing address.
    7. Please plan on mailing your cards out a week before the due date if in North America and a couple of weeks early for international.

As this is a swap where you make cards for each person,
please ensure you DO NOT over-commit yourself. You must be willing
to work on all the other artists in your group!

And lastly, PLEASE be sure to submit your very best work!

    NOTE:
    1. The Fav Artist PATs are meant to be educational: a way for everyone to explore new media, techniques and color schemes by copying the work of another master artist; no copyright infringement is intended. Much like master studies in art school, all works will be labeled as copies with the original artist credited, and the work will never be sold; a standard practice in academia.
    2. The easiest option is to choose artists who are long dead OR to ask your traders to make cards in the style of rather than based on actual paintings.
    3. Please be sure to clearly label your card in the gallery and on the back, for instance: Fave Artist PAT: Georgia O'Keefe
    4. It is the individual artist's responsibility to contact the original artist for permission to copy if they wish to.
    5. If an individual member or iATCs is contacted by an artist to cease the copying of their art, this information will be announced to members of future PAT swaps as no infringement is intended in an educational exercise.

Yah! More artists to challenge ourselves with.

Since most of you are joining P&P groups, I changed the groups around a bit. If more MMA people want to join, I'll edit as needed!

Actually, I'd like to change Basquiat (group 2) to Henri Matisse (specifically his fauvism paintings). sorry about that. Just realized that Janet and Siren have both done me Basquiat so I can change it up.

Got it - no worries about changing this early in the line up.

I'm just hoping we can get a few more people signed up. I sent out a few PM's to people who have done this before. So we'll see. I'd really like to see some of the MMA people to join in. There are some incredible MMA Artist out there to choose from.

Great artists, Janet! I almost went with Millais myself and he's actually on my master studies list to paint this year... or at least try, lol.
