Secret Santa Examples - Photos and Info
Hi everyone who is taking part in Secret Santa swapping!
Here is the example thread so you know what sort of things people are sending and what size your packages should be. We get questions every year and sometimes the text isn't enough. So here are plenty of examples for you to look through to get some ideas of the sorts of things people send.
Here are the DOs & DONT's:
- Read your partner's list and make gifts that reflect their themes. If their preference is landscapes and animals, please don't send pop art or zombies.
- Do send ORIGINAL art! Please don't send prints (unless you're sending a package of notecards or Tarot cards).
- Please don't send things you made last year or stuff from your (Etsy) store. Each present should be made specifically for your partner. If it's a perfect (theme) match, then ok! But that's the only exception.
- Send your best art only! This is our biggest swap of the year and people put much effort and care into their packages. It's important that everyone do the same.
- Don't post photos of your art until it has been received and opened by the recipient! Everything needs to be a surprise. Recipients and/or givers can post photos.
Example of LARGE package contents (all items on list):
- 1 large homemade gift (like an 8 x 10 canvas, tote bag, journal pages, a necklace, hat & mitts)
- 2 smaller homemade gifts (like an altered book, bracelet, chunky page or ornament)
- A couple of ATCs or a bookmark
- Ephemera and candies or small store bought items (like art supplies, or notecards)
Example of SMALL package contents (all items on list):
- You have a choice between 1 large homemade gift (like an 8 x 10 canvas, tote bag, 2 8x8 journal pages, a necklace, hat & mitts) OR 2 smaller homemade gifts (like an altered book, bracelet, chunky page or ornament)
- A couple of ATCs or a bookmark
- Ephemera and candies or small store bought items
Example of MINI package contents (all items on list):
- 1 small homemade gift (like a chunky page or a very nice ornament (Ornament= hangable art!)
- Ephemera and/or candies

Sal-licious, small12 was actually a large! (that painting was an 8x10, just looks little in the picture.. lol!)

Yes, or the givers. It doesn't matter! Both can post photos as long as it's AFTER the package has been opened by the recipient. I just added that to the list.Originally Posted by Ginart

Thanks for making this. In the past I was really intimidated by the list of words and not sure what to send to people, so I didn't participate. This certainly gives me a better idea. (Now the only thing that'll stop me from joining is lack of time....)
Gosh I'm just drooling over the beautiful artworks of everyone. (I saw a set of The Endless dolls, I'm guessing those were for Amerasu, no? Haha)
