Description Alcohol Marker and Ink on Acrylic board. For the Imaginary Super Heroes Swap.

Thich Quang Duc was a Mahayana Buddhist monk who burned himself to death as a "torch of peace" at a busy intersection in Saigon in 1963 in full view of the American media. His act caused an uproar around the world, particularly in the US, against the Buddhist persecution initiated by Vietnam's president Diem. In 1968, during the Tet Offensive, the North Vietnamese Army initiated an attack to take the US Embassy in Saigon, carried out, likewise, in full view of the US media cameras. The attack failed, but the action worked to turn the American people back in North America against the war in Vietnam.

According to Buddhist reports, Thich Quang Duc's heart never burned and even survived the later cremation of his body.
