I love Dandelions, but they hate me!

If someone were to ask me what my favorite flower was, they'd laugh or give me a weird look when I answered.

DANDELIONS, of course!

Is there really anything as beautiful as a BRIGHT Green field framed with vivid green trees sitting below a BOLD Blue sky AND COMPLETELY COVERED IN BRIGHT YELLOW DANDELIONS!?



I love love love all the beautiful fields of canola we have here in Alberta for the same reason. Yellow, Green and Blue, they have to be the happiest colours around!

Dandelions make me think of my childhood - oh, how many hours we spent making dandelion jewelry and chains and singing "Mommy had a baby and his head popped off!" with those dandelions!

That bright yellow colour and the ability to pop up everywhere every morning... what fun little critters!


After the yellow has disappeared from the dandelions, that isn't the end of their beauty!

Their white halos are beautiful! Definitely gorgeous! They inspire so many artists!! I just love dandelion motifs and paintings of that sort!




And Dandelions are MAGICAL! Did you know?

You can make wishes on Dandelions... and the wishes float away on the breeze, carried on the breeze by the white dandelion fluff to all different places.



Dandelions say sunshine, spring, childhood, whimsy, life, growth, and SO MANY OTHER THINGS to me! I love love love Dandelions!!

Too bad I'm SO allergic to them that I have to stay indoors for the majority of the summer!!!!

Here are some photos I took last night of the sunset shining through some dandelions in a field of cattle... the sunset really showed the magic of the dandelions!! I wish I had a good camera and the know-how to use it! I'm sure these photos would have been STELLAR with the right equipment!
