Art History 101


Introduction:This will be a monthly swap for the year. Each month a different artist will be the theme. It will cross through time and periods of history. You will be able to look at some great art to interpret or learn a new technique. Become inspired!!!

This will be a 3/3 or 6/6 swap

Unlimited players

Cards will be in any medium, except for collage. You may interpret the artist by making your own art by using their style. Or you can copy their artwork or subject using your style. Of course you can copy their subject or artwork. Just create, it is up to you.

Each month cards must be postmarked by the 15th of each month. Returns will be mailed by the 30th of each month.

Please send a SASE or correct postage for U.S. players. International players will have postage picked up by me. PM me with your address so I can send your returns.

LATE CARDS WILL BE RETURNED, because of the quick returns.

Please make sure you write the artist on the back of your cards along with your user name, for itrader feedback.

AnneY, can you get them done then, by the 15th? I'd like to see your attempts! I'm starting mine this eve, and should be fine having them done..
So, we could maybe get a few MORE players on this too! In effect, I'm bumping this one into view.....

I posted my cards in the gallery. I experimented with pastels. I am sorry to say I am not very good, but I do like the impressionistic feel of the cards. Pissaro is one of my favorites. Our local museum had a exhibit on his work a couple of years ago. They were very inspiring, I even sprung for the book.

yeah, I do believe he's going to be my biggest challenge yet... Sal did very very well, and looking at hers closely, I'm thinking "keep my strokes tiny, small brushes" and "very pastel-y colors, lots of white".. am I right Sal?

Yeah, tiny messy strokes - white highlights. That was my method anyway :)
