4. Make sure that your user name, who you made the card for and the group number are on the back of each card.
5. Please include a self addressed stamped envelope for your returns if you are in Canada. International members, I will cover the postage but please include a self addressed label for your returns. I will supply the envelopes.

Well I've got nothing scheduled for either January or February so I think it's safe to sign myself up without fear of being overcommitted! These PAT swaps have turned out to be the ones I enjoy most. I think it's the inherent variety in them, and the fact that I really like working to please other artists I really admire and like, which also is like a gift to myself because it stretches ME out in the process.
Sal, I'd love to be in your group (#1) if you're not sick of trading with me yet. I love your work!
Amerasu
10-19-2007, 10:16 PM
Yay! I love your art so I'm thrilled you're in my group!
Come on EQ, join in :)

Okay, I have my theme!
Paul Brady please :jiggy: Here is a picture. My expectations are mainly; make an interesting portrait :) If you feel accurate portraiture skills aren't something you're comfortable with, tracing is fine with me :) Put in interesting pattern, add lyrics to the background etc. please. Just base the portrait on the photo or video clip :)
You can watch him here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBGkhPx529g *goes all fangirl*
That's not groaning I hear, is it? :dull:
Sal: You can put a link to this post next to my name in your first post :) That might make it easier :)

Oooo...this is shaping up to be a challenging swap! :)
Judithian
10-20-2007, 06:33 PM
"Wonder Woman"? Is that an open interpretive theme, or the traditional cool Linda Carter like super-hero version?
OriginalYouth
10-20-2007, 06:35 PM
"Wonder Woman"? Is that an open interpretive theme, or the traditional cool Linda Carter like super-hero version?
Nope, it's not open; it's the old school comics, movies, or Linda Carter hero. Dark hair, bustier, traditional cool version. :)
Ok so I have thought it through, I would like a non-western place/culture (think developing world or ancient civilization) with text from that country incorporated (for example this one I did for lagaz (http://www.illustratedatcs.com/forum/gallery/index.php?n=1995)). It could contain people or not or whatever but with culturally relevant text. I would love african, indian, mexican, etc... kinds of places.
Oh and I would love to jump into group 5 with the theme of bearded dragons or crickets, artist choice.
Amerasu
10-20-2007, 08:47 PM

Hi fellow winter PAT participants. I am getting close to being ready to mail my cards to Amerasu. I struggled a bit with how I wanted to render some of the themes, so I am really hoping that the recipients won't mind that some of my cards might be considered fairly "loose" interpretations of their chosen themes. In my mind they fit, but they may not be exactly what was anticipated.
Hoping for the best...

Okay, I think I am done. If those of you from group 7 or 8 wish to see which cards are yours, you can go here (http://pics.livejournal.com/couchart/gallery/000azbkq). I have also loaded the cards into my album here, but I did not indicate the theme or recipient in case folks would rather be surprised. Since some of my cards are "loose" interpretations, you might not know which one is yours at first glance. So, if you want to see, feel free to follow the link above and if you would rather be surprised, feel free to wait until the cards arrived. I hope you will like them! These PAT swaps are always interesting and challenging!

Amerasu

Yes, I'd complain too.
We're in the middle of a big snowstorm here so I'll have to leave whatever is in the box until tomorrow. I'll dig it out then. Our mail is not delivered to houses here. We have a big mail center box on all of the streets, much like you see in an apartment building with every resident having a locked box. The stuff in the box is very protected; I've never had wet mail or anything but it freezes shut in the winter, lol.

I just came back from the post office. They said as soon as they have the receipt of delivery, I will get my money back. (Now get this). They loose access to the package when it goes international for a few days. :skeptical: So as of 2 days ago, it crossed the border. Other than that - they have no idea when it will arrive. Sigh.
But at least I'll get my $22 back when it finally gets there.
Sal - please PM me when you get it so I can go back to the post.

I'm really sorry to be holding everyone up. I don't know why every time I send a package to Sal it takes sooo long! I didn't send it express this time because the last times I sent it express, it still seemed to take a few weeks. I sent a package the same day I mailed this set and my recipient has already received the package and that was in Afghanistan!!! So I certainly hope they did not get lost. If they don't come by Monday, you might as well send them out. I will remake the cards and send to each one individually.

If u do have an address, go ahead and send mine even if you don't get hers. I owe her from a RAK anyway.

Klawzie's cards are going back to the makers as she didn't send hers in. She said she was going to still be in the PAT but it looks like life is still in the way. I've returned them so you guys can trade them again to someone else.

Just so you know, it was a holiday in Canada today so there was no mail. I'm still holding groups 4 and 5. If PGs cards aren't here by Wednesday, I'll just send them out and then send PGs out as soon as they arrive.
