You remember the board game, Clue, don't you? I've spent many hours of my life - and not just in my childhood, either! - playing this fantastic murder-mystery game (not to mention watching the movie!). And so now I'm hosting a swap dedicated to it - but of course with a twist. :)

Mr. Body is dead again. But instead of being found murdered in an old mansion, this time he's in an amusement park!

Create your own murder suspects (or bring back your favorites!), weapons, and locations! Is it Mr. Green at the Ferris Wheel with the Poisoned Cotton Candy? Or Miss Shell Pink with the Mechanic's Wrench at the First Aid Station?

-Please name (and costume) your Suspect(s) by colors.
-Please try to think of Weapons that one might find in an amusement park. (Feel free to be creative. :) )
-Please limit locations to ones you might find in an amusement park. (ie: Rides or park utilities.)

-> Inspiration link: Clue Fan Art (http://www.cluedofan.com/fan_art/index.html) (Please do not feel constrained by the 'traditional' Clue card set-up, however. :) )

LOTTERY:
Before I send out the cards, I'll put each participant's name (except my own) into a hat. The winner will receive a bonus card - Mr. Body himself!

I loved Clue! I will play! Prints and digital paintings are fine.

I am totally in - what a innovative topic. I am ok with prints/digitals. My partner and I play clue with her daughter who's 6 - she is totally into it!! She'll be super interested in the cards that people make for this. She'll probably want me to make her an amusement park clue board so we can play!! Kids are awesome - I'm guessing that this will bring out the kids in us! :P

This sounds like huge amounts of fun! Sign me up! I love Clue, although I haven't played since I was MUCH younger. Love the movie too.

Artyiagirl - If you ever make an Clue Theme Park game, you absolutely have to share with us!!!

OMG! Yes...two things that I love combined in a totally cool way!

I am so in!

Klawzie

Excellent! :D Glad to have you, Chronata! :D

I'm totally geeking out on this, you guys. I've made a spreadsheet in Google Documents. XD; That's Type A behavior from someone who is throughly Type B. XD; And as soon as I start getting returns (and I don't expect them for awhile, mind you), I'll have a specific Swap Box to keep everything in so they don't get mislaid. :D I may even seperate the cards with index cards of my own. :o

Furthermore, I'm looking for a stamp or might make a stamp for nefarious purposes of my own. > : D

To those already signed up and/or to those who are considering joining this swap, but haven't yet...

Would extending the due-date from December 10th to January 10th be better? Or should I leave it as-is? I'm open to either due date - so it's up to you guys! :o

TabLynn
10-10-2007, 03:00 AM
either is fine for me

artyiagirl
10-10-2007, 11:38 AM
I can also work with either date.

Klawzie
10-13-2007, 05:30 PM
Since it's been a few days (giving people who don't visit the forums about 10x a day like I do... >_> ) since the last post, I'm going to assume the majority is fine with the current due date. XD

If towards the end of November people are running out of time to get the cards done, please feel free to ask for the extension. I know how things get around the holidays! :D

I'll be working on my cards for this swap soon. X3 Has anyone already got started? (I wouldn't expect anyone to have! There are 10 swaps due for December/the last day of November alone!)

artyiagirl

I have my sketches for the swap, but I haven't started the coloring process. So far, I have the Blue Barker for a suspect, a candy apple for a weapon and the Fun House for a location. I'll post once they have progressed a little farther with them.

This is a very fun theme!

Klawzie
10-13-2007, 10:43 PM
Yay! :D I can't wait to see what you've come up with! And I'm glad you think the theme is fun. X3

All the day I came up with this swap, I thinking of doing an "Elementals" swap and was writing up the description for it when this one just hit me out of the blue. I got so excited, it's hard not to sound really, really weird about it. >_> So I'll just say, "really excited" and leave it at that. XD;

So I'm shooting for a 9/9 myself. >_>; (Well, it'd be a 10/9 swap, since I'm also drawing Mr. Body. Because the game's not the same without Mr. Body. XD)

Amerasu

Personally, I'd much rather have a Jan 08 due date if the question is still open!

Klawzie
10-17-2007, 09:36 PM
If it'd get anyone else to play - I'd be happy to change it. ;) Amerasu - if you (or any other admin type X3) decide to join - go ahead and change the due date to Jan. 10, '08. :3

Klawzie
10-18-2007, 12:41 PM
That's what I get for responding to a thread when I am already late for work - I didn't look properly at who I was talking to. XD;;; (Sorry Amerasu. XD; )

I changed the due date in this thread and changed it on the calendar! If someone with the modly abilities can change the due date in the thread from Dec. 10 to Jan. 10 - I would appreciate it. :D

Amerasu
10-18-2007, 12:52 PM
I changed it!

Here's a set of my Clue cards for the swap. These are rather sylized and feel a little different than my typical stlye. I like the way they look together. Hope you like them.

Klawzie

Those are AWESOME. XD I will leave a better comment after I've had some sleep - but you're right that they do look wonderful as a set! :D

TabLynn

Here's my set.

Hi Klawzie,
My clue cards are in the mail and heading your way. This was a wonderful theme and it really inspired me to work a "little" outside my normal style. Thanks for hosting, I really enjoyed concepting and creating these cards.

Klawzie
11-24-2007, 09:24 PM
X3 I'm glad you had fun! :D I can't wait to see them in person! :D

Klawzie

artyiagirl - Your cards arrived today! They're so soft looking! I took out one of them just to touch it. LOL. (I'm still groggy/sleepy, so please excuse my odd behavior. XD )

artyiagirl
11-27-2007, 10:15 PM
so glad they've arrived. I couldn't believe how smooth and soft they turned out. Believe it or not, they are all prismacolor markers. I used a clear blender over the color and or used a much lighter shade of the color. This created the interesting surface "texture/softness".

I'm so excited to see everyone else's interpretations on the theme!

Klawzie
11-28-2007, 08:54 PM
For real? :D That's really cool! I've seen a lighter color over a darker color (or another brand of alcohol-based marker, even) produce interesting break-up type effects, but I'd never seen it done in quite that way before. XD I'll have to try it. :3

*edits to make your name blue on the sign-up list. which she forgot to do yesterday* >_>

Oh, what a fantastic idea!
I will join once I get things done, out of the way, and I KNOW I have time for this one.

Chronata

OK...I am still working on theses...I am NOT giving up.

Sigh. My brilliant ideas for this swap far outweigh my skill at executing them...which is frustrating as all hell.

But I am not giving up...

WhiteMoth
12-26-2007, 03:10 PM
Mine are done and posted.
BUT....should I write titles on them?
like...Miss Blue ect?

I had a hard time with this swap....hope they are okay?

Chronata
12-27-2007, 05:39 PM
I think your cards are super, Harriet!

Mine will be in the mail in the next five minutes!

This was a hard swap, even though I had so many ideas!
It finally came together on the fourth try, with the black and white style.

Alas you don't get to see the cards for Security Officer Berry, the Churro, or the Dark Ride. They all came out pretty horrible!

I know our dear hostess hasn't been on in a while...hasn't Klawzie moved recently?

I can't find her address anywhere...but I don't know even if I had the right one...I should probably bug Potbelly again!

Klawzie...if you are out there...did you get my PM?

EraserQueen
12-27-2007, 11:08 PM
Yes, Klawz has been moving. Let's hold up on mailing any cards to her till we hear from her! (her old addy was her parents home, so anyone who sent already is okay I'm sure :)

Amerasu
01-02-2008, 12:06 AM
Please don't send cards to this swap until we hear from Klawzie. She last posted on December 3rd saying that she was really busy and we haven't heard from her since. I've sent her a PM and an email and will let you guys know what's up as soon as we hear from her - or when she posts here! Hoping everything is ok with her because we miss her :)

WhiteMoth
01-02-2008, 02:03 AM
Thanks for letting us know.

I also hope that all is well and wishing her the best!

Chronata
01-02-2008, 11:59 PM
yikes! I hope she's ok!

I will hold off on mailing..I still have the envelope all ready to go, whenever the news comes!

Amerasu
01-10-2008, 04:10 PM
Guys, it looks like this swap is KAPUT too. Klawzie is awol is not responding to PMs or emails. Unfortunately, it looks like a couple of you have sent in your cards so hopefully Klawzie will return them to you. If I hear any news at all, I will post it here for all to see.

Amerasu
01-12-2008, 01:08 PM
This swap is closed! We have heard from Klawzie and she is ok :)

She can restart this swap when she returns and things have settled down for her.

She is going to send cards back to those who had sent them in.
