Mediums: Hand drawn or painted originals only, mixed media is ok too as long as hand drawn elements are prominent and visible.

About the theme: The portraits don't have to be realistic of course. You can be a caricature or a cartoon, a stylized fashion illustration or some sort of patterned abstract. As long as we can tell that it's a portrait, it's all good. Head and shoulders is good, not full body.


Have a look here for inspiration. This amazingly wonderful artist on Concept Art forums did a self portrait a day for a couple of years. All sorts of styles. Not sure if you have to be a member to view this link...

I'm afraid I have to ditch this one as well. Last night, I had a slab break on a back tooth. Right now, I'm looking for a dentist to take me, today.. and the root is exposed. I'm just hoping I'm not headed for more of these same types of breaks!
I do have ideas/sketches of my cards tho. So if I get them done, somehow, anyway, I'll send them in. I just wouldn't want to hold up the swap because I'm late with cards. I hope you'll hold another one, just like this one, next year. Then I'll have my cards ready!
