80's Cartoon Swap, cards due Nov. 9

Let's remember the 80's...a time when cartoons were like, totally radical.
This swap is all about them. All cartoons that aired during the 80's is fair game. Examples include, but not limited too: He-man, Transformers, G.I. Joe, Thundercats, She-Ra, Jem, Rainbow Brite, Silverhawks, Danger Mouse, etc. Feel free to interpret the subject as you see fit...keep to the style of the show or adapt it to your current style, just make sure we can still see the essence of the character and/or show.

I really didn't want to do any more swaps right now, but how can I resist a she-ra card, or thundercats? awsome, dude! sign me up! my sons would be totally stoked if I did a gi-joe.

I really didn't want too, but how can I resist Rainbow Brite? Care Bears? Too funny. I'm thinking Inspector Gadget too.....

TabLynn

I LOVE inspector gadget! I have a Danger Mouse remix of the theme song. I was always a Get Smart fan so it seemed a natural to watch inspector gadget. Are smurfs 80's?

Are smurfs 80's? Oh, for sure!

Zamurai
08-15-2007, 06:35 AM
Yep...Smurfs are very much 80's. My mom never let me watch the Smurfs because she thought Gargamel(sp.) was evil, but she did let me watch Friday the 13th with her, my aunt and my older brother when I was still in elementary school...it just doesn't add up.

Hoo Boy... how could I ever forget the many "wonderful" hours spent assembling all those nifty "He-Man" toys for my sons. I think Castle Grayskull had about 3 million tiny little stickers to be applied! And those Ninja Turtle Action figures had more accessories than any Barbie doll! Sign me up.

Thanks for joining Dina....my parents visited this last weekend for my daughter's b-day and we talked about all the joys of assembling toys and stepping, barefoot, on all those little, hard plastic pieces that we kept losing....good times.

Man if I wasn't going away I'd be totally into this. Radical dude!

Maybe if I've time before the deadline upon my return home!

Due to the number of swaps due in September and October, I've extended the deadline to November 9th. Hopefully that helps others breathe easier and allows for more participants.

Thanks,

Z.

Iee. If it's in November, I can probably participate! I'm keeping an eye on this one, but am not signing up until I have at least my personal trade and another swap finished. :oooo

Thanks for joining....I must admit, I too was also a fan of the Muppet Babies. Just don't tell anyone, it could ruin my manly reputation.

Great work on all of those Tablynn!
All these cards make me laugh! :) Hooray for kids of the 80s. I haven't decided who to draw yet, everyone is doing 'tough' themes.... ;)

Nice Ninja Turtle TabLynn, however, since his mask is red it must be Raphael, and he uses sai's for his weapon of choice not a katana sword, Leonardo used the katana sword. Wow, I'm such a geek.

Ha! I knew I would goof that up! I could not find a good reference of whose who. He must be borrowing the sword from Leo:)

Ok since Z pushed my OCD buttons I decided to fix the turtle. I guess Leonardo got dressed in the dark or something. Anyway now he has on a blue mask. Hopefully no more costume changes:twitcy:

I thought this topic would be hotter too! Guess there aren't as many 80s comic geeks as we thought, lol.

I'll be finishing mine up this week and sending them your way.

My swaps seem destined to be on the small side, but it's probably a blessing due to my schedule and commitments as of late. Can't wait to see your cards Amerasu...and there is still plenty of time for anyone else still interested. Please pm me if anyone needs my address.
